For the New Year, the new you starts now.
When Meghan Markle (when stateside, at least), Kendall Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, Bella Thorne and Nina Agdal feel like sweating it out, they head to Y7 Studio, the NYC import dishing out We Flow Hard vinyasa and #HipHopSundays yoga classes. (“Everybody always loves Drake,” says co-founder Sarah Levey.) The brand quickly outgrew its West Hollywood digs and, this month, opened a second even more alluring L.A. studio in Silver Lake, near Sunset Junction.
“When we found this space, we knew it was our spot,” says Levey. “It is an amazing neighborhood and community, and it has always been on our list since we first expanded to the West Coast.” The 2,500-square-foot celeb-frequented hot spot sets itself apart from other hot-yoga studios by using an infrared heating system that reaches a balmy 90 degrees, which is good for the skin.
After yogis get that glow from energizing yet exhausting classes on Manduka mats set to current hits blasting from a state-of-the-art sound system, they can enjoy showers with Malin + Goetz products or the open-air patio, which speaks to the true California indoor-outdoor lifestyle. “The space used to be an old service garage, and we are utilizing the garage doors and outdoor storage area as a locker area,” says Levey.
Core class is new and exclusive to Silver Lake, as are workshops for the first time. They range from mega detox and Heavily Meditated meditation sessions to inversion and arm balance sessions and crystal healing and reiki with The Crystal Manifest. Because the poses are just as important as the ensembles, there’s a pop-up shop that will host complementary brands selling athleisure, juices and more. Even in Silver Lake, you never know when you might be snapped by paparazzi en route to class.
